What is an ALE Net? The use of the word net in ALE has a slightly different meaning than the traditional ham radio net. An ALE Net Address is a selective call group. When a NET CALL to the ALE Net Address is transmitted by any station in the net, only stations that are programmed as a Net Member will respond to the call and link with the calling station. Some Nets are open membership, some Nets have conditional or limited access membership, some nets are for emergency use, and some Nets have closed membership.
